SETA Textiles, the new identity of Shamsi Group first founded in Egypt in 1958, is the successful outcome of a new partnership concluded in January 2006 with "Oasis Capital Fund", a private equity fund specializing in non-listed investments, making through a simultaneous capital increase of Egyptian pounds 200 million (around US$ 35 million).

SETA Textiles comprises now 7 vertically integrated companies, spreading over more than 40 000 square meters, with over 4000 employees, ranked to be one of the leaders in the textile & garments manufacturing as well as retail.

SETA Textiles main operations are: Textiles (fabric processing), Garmenting and Retailing.

Textile arm is "SHATEX", specializing in circular Knitting, Weaving, Dyeing, and Printing & Finishing of clothing fabrics as well as furnishing fabrics (upholstery & curtains).

The Garmenting companies produce: Shirts, Knitwear (outwear & underwear) and Trousers, almost 100% of their production are directed to exports.

Given prevailing world competitive pressures, the Group takes advantage of relatively low skilled labour cost, low energy cost, availability of long-staple cotton, QIZ and EC international agreements, Egypt's geographical location, thus proximity to European Markets, all together paving gateways at high competitive edges.
